Acappellooza! St. Louis 2004 - a Great Success!

Dr. Jim Henry Directs the Acappellooza! Attendees

Singing "If Ye Love Me"

This year's Young Men In Harmony event, "Acappellooza!" St. Louis, was sponsored by the University of Missouri St. Louis and The Ambassadors of Harmony; and held at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center on October 12, 2004.  In attendance were 431 students from 21 St. Louis area high schools, an increase of 138 students over last year's event.

Under the direction of Dr. Jim Henry, Director of Choral Studies and Director of The Ambassadors of Harmony, the students spent the day learning three a cappella songs, including "I'm Sittin' On Top of the World", "Soon Ah Will Be Done", and "If Ye Love Me". Section Rehearsals were led by Professor Robert Ray, University Chorus Conductor; Rich Knight of the Gas House Gang; and Tim Waurick and Jonny Moroni of Vocal Spectrum.

Following lunch, Dr. Henry conducted the singing of the three songs, and wonderful entertainment was provided by UMSL students and faculty members Mark Madsen, Amanda Boyer, Jermaine D. Smith, Jim Henry and the University Singers, and Vocal Spectrum, 2004 International Collegiate Quartet Champions and Central States District Champions.
