chorus wins championship
10/10/2006
ST.
CHARLES
The Ambassadors of Harmony, an a cappella chorus of
150 men based in St. Charles, won its 12th consecutive
championship in the BHS Central States District Chorus
competition Saturday in Wichita, Kan.
The
group, under the direction of Jim Henry, re-entered
the competition cycle following a 2 1/2-year hiatus,
after having won the international championship in 2004.
Before that, they had won the district championship
11 years in a row and had earned top-four medals in
10 straight international contests, including the gold
medal in 2004.
Winning
the district championship qualifies the Ambassadors
of Harmony to compete at the BHS International Chorus
Contest, in July next year in Denver.
