Ambassadors
of Harmony, International Chorus Champions, Honor “Hard Corps
Chorale”,
The “Hard Corps Chorale” is a small barbershop chorus formed by a group of soldiers in Iraq. Recently they videotaped their singing of Joe Lile’s arrangement of “America the Beautiful” and sent it to the Barbershop Harmony Society Headquarters. The Society made arrangements with the International Champion Ambassadors of Harmony for a joint performance of the song at the International Convention, held in July in Salt Lake City, Utah at the beautiful LDS Center. The performance ended with a “duet” of the Ambassadors of Harmony singing live with the video performance by the Hard Corps Chorale of the counter-melody, “Let Freedom Ring”. When The Ambassadors of Harmony returned home, they put together a package of items which the Corps members sorely need and sent them, along with many letters of love and respect, to Iraq on August 24th. The Ambassadors truly appreciate the sacrifices being made and the risks being taken by the men and women of the Hard Corps Chorale, and by all American soldiers both in Iraq and around the world. A
