Ambassadors
of Harmony Win International Championship!!

The
Ambassadors of Harmony chorus of St. Charles, Missouri, has won
the Barbershop Harmony Society's 2004 International Championship.
They were awarded the First Place Trophy and Gold Medal for their
performance on July 3rd in Louisville, Kentucky, and received a
standing ovation from a crowd of over 8,000 excited attendees. With
a long history of musical excellence in a cappella singing, they
once again qualified for entry into international competition last
fall by winning the annual Central States District Chorus Championship
for the eleventh consecutive year.

The
Ambassadors competed against a field of twenty-two choruses from
around the world. Under the direction of Jim Henry, they sang two
songs arranged by Associate Director David Wright - "I Have
Dreamed", and "The New Ashmolean Marching Society and
Students' Conservatory Band". They took 160 dedicated men to
the International Competition stage, the largest chorus ever to
perform in this annual event.
The
Ambassadors' reign as International Champions allows them to lay
out of competition for the next three years. During this time they
will devote their energies to performing, fulfilling their mission
of ever-improving musical excellence, and giving the gift of beautiful
music and top notch entertainment to all those for whom they sing.
They will perform as reigning Champions at next year's International
Competition in Salt Lake City, Utah, and will continue to perform
in annual shows and paid performances in the St. Louis area and
around the world. They excel in singing many different styles of
a cappella music, including Jazz, Pop, Gospel, and Barbershop.
The
Ambassadors never cease to be delighted by the postive response
they receive to their music. These are singers who absolutely love
what they do, and their audiences do too!
