Shown at the left is one of a dozen quartets from the Ambassadors
of Harmony Chorus from St. Charles Missouri who delivered Singing Valentines
all across St. Louis on February 13th and 14th,
2004.
The Ambassadors of Harmony
take great delight in bringing the gift of music to the sweethearts
in the St. Louis area. This year's event was truly a success, with over
220 deliveries for over 300 recipients, also bringing good music and
delight to hundreds more onlookers.
Valentine recipients have diverse reactions to having four men in
tuxedos looking them in the eye and singing a love song – everything
from blushed embarrassment to free-flowing tears – but all seem lifted
by the experience. Onlookers
see the guys coming, and their consistent comment is "Oh boy, who are
you here for? I can't wait to see this!" The Ambassadors find
themselves being applauded with standing ovations and being hugged by
grateful sweethearts.
The Ambassadors of Harmony
have been delivering Singing Valentines annually for the past twelve
years. They are an a cappella chorus of 160 men who have been Medalists
in International competition nine times in the past 10 years, and have
won the Championship of the Central States District, SPEBSQSA, for 11
years straight. They are
currently ranked First among 800 choruses worldwide, having won the
International Championship in July 2004.
Their mission is musical excellence, and the chorus has produced
many past quartet champions, including the Gas House Gang, 1993
International Quartet Champions, and several past District Quartet Champions,
including Cadence, the current-year Champs.
The Ambassadors of
Harmony perform annually in their Spring and Christmas shows, and also
perform in shows across the country and around the world.
They will be performing on February 21st at the
Land of Lincoln show in Springfield, Illinois (see
http://www.harmonize.com/landoflincoln/
for details). In March,
they'll be making a ten-day performance tour of Germany, the Netherlands,
and Sweden. Their annual Spring Show, where they always preview their
upcoming International Competition package, will be held on June 26, at
Touhill Performing Arts Center. Tickets will go on sale in the early
spring. Monitor
